About Us

The Montessori Teacher Preparation Program for Early Childhood (ages 2-1/2 to 6) is located in Castro Valley California in cooperation with California State University, East Bay.

Our mission is to:
  • Prepare Montessori teachers with deep grounding in Montessori's philosophy.
  • Develop individuals who have a broader approach in the contemporary context of child development and educational thought.
  • Create teachers as “scientific pedagogues” who see the prepared environment as a dynamic system that “follows the child” in the pursuit of her / his intellectual and moral needs.

Dear Colleague and prospective Student-Teacher:

We would like to invite you to send your teachers to receive Montessori Early Childhood Teacher-Training from the Montessori Institute of Advanced Studies.

Four questions you may wish to ask about our program

    " Classes, Practicum workshops and seminars allow ample time to internalize theory and classroom practice.

  4. Would you receive college credit for your work?

    " Yes! You can receive up to 12 units of academic credit through the Division of Extension of California State University, East Bay. These units are accepted by the Human Development Department towards a Bachelor's degree at CSU EB.

The Montessori Institute of Advanced Studies believes that each individual pursues his/her own growth within the limits of social responsibility.
